12:00 am to 12:00 am: AFBF Annual Meeting, New Orleans

Ten Farm Bureau members will be selected to participate in the 2019 Leadership Farm Bureau (LBF) Class. During the 10-month training program they will gain skills and confidence to be advocates for agriculture, themselves and Farm Bureau. The program consists of six sessions that focus on: • Personal Development • Teambuilding • Advocacy and Policy • Communication • Farm Bureau, local, state, and national • Ag Issues and Field Studies Tours The ideal candidate for LFB is a board member of a county Farm Bureau, YF&R State Committee member or county Farm Bureau member who is interested in taking a larger leadership role within the organization. LFB produces leaders who are well-rounded in many phases of leadership and are able to effectively communicate with those who may not understand the significance of agriculture in our daily lives. They are challenged to grow in both personal and professional capacities and will be an asset to your county Farm Bureau. Members who are in line for election to the county board or executive team, are a 1st or 2nd vice president in line for the presidency or are a YF&R member ready to transition into mainstream involvement with Farm Bureau are encouraged to apply for the Class of 2019. The county Farm Bureau must sign the application and provide a recommendation for the applicant package. The deadline to apply for the Class of 2019 is December 21, 2018.
