Rural Health and Safety Programs

Farm Bureau works to promote Rural Health and Safety and Crime Prevention

Originally established to primarily help rural residents obtain quality health insurance, the Rural Health & Safety Committee programs worked in tandem with local hospitals to ensure the rural community had access to quality health care.

Today, the role involves sponsoring various safety seminars including hazardous material training, heat illness prevention, annual Safety events and compliance and regulatory trainings for growers.

Farm Bureau in Tulare County works very closely with our Ag Crimes Investigation unit of the Tulare County Sheriff and District Attorney offices.  We host an annual luncheon for the CA Rural Crime Prevention Taskforce Rural Crime School, a week-long training event for AG Law Enforcement.

Pictured right,  TCDA Ag Investigator Dave Gosvenor discusses rural crime issues at the Rural Crime School.
